NiMH batteries do not need to be discharged Yup, looks like a NiCAD charger to me.. I have posted a couple pictures of it for you to see so you know what I am talking about.

And you don't want to use a trickle charger because once they are charged to their peak level, you don't want to continue charging them.. Since this one has a timer and is a trickle charger, I would say it's just for NiCAD batteries.. I think you need a peak charger that shuts itself off when the battery is fully charged.. That charger has a discharge setting NiCAD batteries should be fully discharged before recharging (They have memory issues).. Once again, from what I've read, it's easy to overcharge NiMH batteries with a timer.. I own a Pro Tech Super Charger #702 by Model Craft MFG (it was my dad's) but I do not know anything about it such as what batteries it will charge, whether it turns off by itself once the battery is charges etc. b0d43de27c
